Bridges, Water and Forests Chief Engineer, Martine Mack began her career within the State at the French Directorate General for Food (DGAL) in Paris then at the French Directorate General for Environment (DIREN) in Alsace.
In 2006, she joined the French Department of Bas-Rhin, where she headed the services in charge of town planning, development, housing, then road operations.
In 2012, she moved to the French Alsace Region to become Director of Competitiveness and Knowledge in charge of economic development, innovation, research and higher education. Following the merger of the three French regions in 2016, it took on these same responsibilities at the level of the new French Grand Est region. In this context, she was particularly involved in capital investment within regional funds.
In January 2018, Martine Mack was appointed Chief Executive Officer of the mixed economy company R-GDS, manager of the natural gas network in Strasbourg and in 119 municipalities in Bas-Rhin. Across its territory, the R-GDS group acts on several levers of energy transition: developing virtuous urban heating networks, optimizing the energy performance of built heritage, promoting green gas and renewable energies.
In 2019, R-GDS is launching a joint venture with Haffner Energy, in order to develop the first industrial pilot in France for the production of green hydrogen by an innovative biomass thermolysis process.
