President of Eurometropole de Strasbourg since July 15, 2020, Pia IMBS – 60 years old – is also Mayor of the municipality of Holtzheim (3680 inhabitants) since 2014 where she developed the participatory democracy.
During the previous mandate, she was metropolitan councilor responsible of industrial risks and President of “For a Balanced Eurometropolis” group. She was also a member of the board of directors of the Compagnie des Transports Strasbourgeois (CTS) and Vice-President of the Syndicat Mixte Bruche-Mossig.
She is Vice-President of the Movement for Alsace (MPA).
Her professional career has led her to lead various university institutions for more than 12 years (Dean of the Faculty of Economics of Amiens, Director of IAE of Strasbourg, Deputy Director of the Strasbourg School of Management) and to publish more than thirty research articles in various fields of management (particularly human resources and corporate social responsibility). She has also carried out various consulting and business training missions on the dual theme of social and environmental responsibility.
Doctor of economics, lecturer in management sciences and head of the Sustainable Development-CSR chair and of the Human Resources Master at EM Strasbourg, she teaches and supervises doctoral theses (2000). She also created an Executive MBA in Sustainable Development and CSR and held numerous conferences in France and abroad on macro and microeconomic subjects of ecology.
His constant commitment to ecology is expressed both on a daily basis in his municipality (Label city and starred village, Zero phyto, 4 flowers, signatory of the Pact for the Ecological Transition) and in the animation of conference cycles with elected officials and business leaders on sustainable development issues (leader of the Grenelle de l’Environnement in Mulhouse, creator and leader of the SIM Tank Sustainable Development – between 2006 and 2009 – with the aim of highlighting economic issues, social and societal aspects of sustainable development in Alsace).
She chairs the management committee of the Ehpad Holtzheim and is a member of the board of directors of ABRAPA (association of aid and personal service).
She is an Officer of the Academic Palms and Knight of the Legion of Honor.
